Life is Pain

Why write?

I write to learn, to know, to share.  In hopes of being understood.

I've also wondered this:  Are certain forms of writing an act of compassion?  What if I wrote out of compassion?  How would that affect what I write?

Compassion comes back to us a millionfold.  Ram Dass says that compassion is so much more than empathy or sympathy.  Compassion is active, and your writing benefits all of us who read it, so truly you are already writing out of compassion, whether it be for yourself or for others.  Your compassion shines through as we read your words.  Thank you for your wisdom, Theresa, as you share our work and thoughts,

Theresa (which is a name we share),
I thank you for stopping by my journal and will chew my way through yours like a hungry bear. I feel that all acts of creativity are performed from a place of compassion through the sacrifice of ones own energy-- life force. When you hold your reader/viewer in mind, while creating or performing, you are working from compassion on some level. WHY do you do the things you do? Is it an easy, carefree job with endless pay? You are an artists and all art stems from compassionate desire to share with the viewer; a sacrifice of the self. There are many easier ways to make a buck! :) I for one am glad for your efforts! Thank you!
